Regardless of the individual action I take against you and the others in this conflict, I wanted to spell out some of the violations I have uncovered in my investigation:
1. It is unacceptable to call others a shill, liar, misanthrope, nuclear cheerleader or other pejorative term. This falls under our ad hominem rule. 2. It is unacceptable to reveal personal information about another, including actual, perceived or rumored employer, affiliated organization, etc. 3. Duplicate comments and reposting of other users' comments is not allowed. 4. Using obfuscation (spaces, punctuation, intentional misspelling, etc) within comments to bypass moderation is a violation. 5. Comments complaining about moderation are not allowed, as there are proper channels for those.
Thanks for the info on Charles's fake message from HP. I actually believed it. Boy, I've kept reading HP's policies. I really don't want to get banned. I like my screen name and like having my comment history and connections.
Haven't even made it to HP yet (briefly earlier today only). I didn't see any headlines about a major catastrophe in Japan, thank God, so I figured I could catch up this evening.
Well, off to get some dinner and then I'll probably head to HP.

I would like to know what caused the banning of one of our friend's entire account on HP. Did they take it one step further and figure out exactly who Sylly is?

I just wanted to state again that persons who had their accounts terminated did not get any communication from HP. Now, seeing the email, I am having a hard time restraining myseld from laughing at the "rules." Sylly doesn't use "perjorative" references? Charles77 and WilliamG don't repost duplicate comments? People don't "obfuscate" or "complain about moderation" on every HP thread?
Obviously the "rules" are selectively enforced to achieve whatever the desired result may be.

Did you watch Arnie Gundersen's video today? Probably not a good one to post on HP. The lobbiests will be all over it because at the end he says that Deepak Chopra and other nuclear scientists will be on the video on Friday.

I personally think the fact that this troll has been so persistent (now on its 4th sock in 24 hours), even with buried thread, means that rabbit is here at the behest of others. The credibility of the cheerleader arguments is in tatters, so now we get cruder tactics to disrupt the thread.
Call me paranoid, but I think it is NO coincidence that this troll showed up immediately as soon as Fukushima hit Level 7, and has stayed planted in the discussion, even after wearing out 4 socks in 24 hours.
Winston, the same thought had occurred to me. "We've considered inserting troublemakers" a la a certain Wisc Gov perhaps. And as I posted here earlier and then immediately deleted, I was wondering if it was j t t off his meds and during a psychotic episode, because HE too has on several occasions threatened with the "legal department".
I think they get cruder people. I mean, you'd have to have really low morals to shill for the industry, especially now. So, I think they're down to the dregs of humanity.
I have felt that there seems to be an underlying effort to "get us off the threads", that may be MY paranoia. And maybe now they are resorting to this. And I must admit. This evening I contemplated getting off of HP. But then I think it is what they (whoever they are) are after.

I agree Susanne. They are just master baiting us, in the hopes that we violate a rule. It also distracts us from posting truths.
I think their really sick posts speak for themselves and most reasonable people will recognize that. Those that don't recognize that are quite sick themselves.
Just one more thing and then I am going to skeedattle. We should all probably read up on the precious "rules," just to be on the safe side. I believe Max is skating on thin ice, even though he is right in what he is saying.
